DUI Evaluation Cost in Marietta, GA: $200 and What It Covers
DUI Evaluation Cost in Marietta, GA: $200 and What It Covers

A clinical DUI evaluation at The Diversion Center costs $200, paid once, as published on our pricing page. That fee covers the evaluation itself. DUI school, any treatment the evaluator recommends, and court or DDS fees are separate, and this guide explains each so you can plan the full cost of a Georgia DUI requirement, not only the first appointment.
If you were arrested in Cobb County and your attorney, the court or your probation officer told you to get an evaluation, you probably have a deadline and a lot of questions. Below you will find what the $200 pays for, what sits outside it, and how to get the appointment done quickly.
TL;DR
- Our clinical DUI evaluation is $200, one-off. Our non-DUI alcohol and drug evaluation is $150.
- The evaluation is a separate cost from DUI Risk Reduction (DUI school), which Georgia sets by law at $360 in total.
- Any treatment the evaluator recommends is billed separately, and the recommendation depends on your evaluation results.
- Same-day and expedited appointments are available, in person in Marietta or live over Zoom anywhere in Georgia.
- You receive a written report and recommendation that can go to your attorney, probation officer or court.

What a DUI evaluation costs at The Diversion Center
Here is what we publish for the evaluations people most often confuse with one another:
| Evaluation | Fee | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| Clinical Evaluation (DUI Evaluation) | $200 | DUI charge, court or DDS requirement |
| Alcohol and Drug Evaluation (Non-DUI) | $150 | Probation, employer or court requirement not tied to a DUI |
| Out of State Evaluation | $300 | Evaluation needed for an out-of-state matter |
| SAP Evaluation | $400 | DOT return-to-duty process |
The fee is the same whether you come to our Marietta office or meet with the evaluator live on Zoom. Current prices are always on our pricing page, and you can call 404-503-8069 to confirm before you book.
If you searched for the cost in Marietta specifically, the Marietta office is one of five metro Atlanta locations we run, alongside Duluth, Lawrenceville, Jonesboro and Fayetteville. Cost does not change with the office you choose, so pick the one that is easiest to reach, or choose virtual if you do not have a car.

What the $200 pays for
A clinical evaluation is more than a conversation and a signature. Under Georgia’s rules for the DUI Intervention Program, a clinical evaluation for a DUI offender consists of a clinical interview and a review of a standardized screening instrument, and the evaluator must use department-approved assessment instruments. The information gathered must be enough to diagnose or rule out a substance-related disorder under current DSM criteria and to recommend an appropriate ASAM level of service.
In practice, your fee covers:
- The appointment with a qualified evaluator. The interview covers your alcohol and drug use history, the circumstances of the arrest, your health and any co-occurring mental health concerns.
- Standardized screening and assessment tools. These give the evaluator an objective basis for the recommendation.
- A written report and recommendation. This states what level of education or treatment, if any, the evaluator recommends. See what the document contains in our evaluation walkthrough.
- Delivery of your paperwork. The report is prepared so that your probation officer, attorney or the court can use it.
The evaluator must also be qualified. Georgia defines a clinical evaluator as a licensed or certified individual approved by DBHDD to perform clinical evaluations for DUI offenders. We are a court-approved provider, and our paperwork is accepted by Georgia courts, probation officers and employers.
Costs that sit outside the evaluation fee
Most surprises come from not knowing that a Georgia DUI requirement has several parts. The evaluation is one of them.
DUI Risk Reduction (DUI school)
The Georgia Department of Driver Services says the total cost of the DUI, Alcohol or Drug Use Risk Reduction course is set by law at $360: $100 for the Assessment Component, $235 for the Intervention Component and $25 for the workbook. The same page explains that the assessment is a 130-question screening instrument, and the intervention is a 20-hour course with group lessons and peer group counseling.

This is a separate program from the clinical evaluation, and it carries a separate fee.
Recommended treatment
The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities states that DUI offenders must attend DUI School, have a clinical evaluation and complete any treatment the evaluator recommends. What the evaluator recommends depends on your results, so the cost of this step cannot be known before the evaluation. Some people are recommended education only; others are recommended a structured level of outpatient care such as ASAM Level I treatment, which we also provide.
The state’s rules add a protection for you: to earn a certificate of treatment completion, a client must stay in treatment for at least the period the evaluator recommends, and a client who has complied with the treatment plan cannot be required to remain in treatment longer than one year.
Court, DDS and attorney costs
Fines, court costs, license reinstatement fees and legal fees are set by the court, the DDS and your attorney, not by an evaluator. Ask your attorney which of these apply to your case.
Do you actually need one?
Not every first-time DUI arrest leads to the same requirements. The Georgia DDS DUI chart notes that completing a clinical evaluation and any recommended treatment is not required for reinstatement of a first DUI within five years, but that it applies to a second offense within ten years. The same chart says courts may still make the evaluation and treatment a condition of probation on a first DUI. Note that the chart is dated, so confirm the current rules with your attorney or the DDS.
The practical answer: if a judge, attorney or probation officer told you to get one, schedule it. If you are unsure, read our guide to what evaluation results mean for your court case or call us and we will point you to the right appointment.
What can change the total you pay
The $200 fee is fixed. Your total depends on:
- Which evaluation your order calls for. A DUI clinical evaluation ($200), a non-DUI alcohol and drug evaluation ($150) and an out-of-state evaluation ($300) are different services. Ask your attorney or probation officer for the exact wording of your order so you book the right one the first time.
- The recommendation. Education only, outpatient treatment or a higher level of care carry different costs and time commitments.
- Timing. A late evaluation can mean extra court dates or a probation problem. Same-day and expedited appointments exist so a deadline does not turn into a bigger expense.
- Related requirements. Some people are also ordered to attend a victim impact panel or an alcohol and drug awareness class. See our classes page.
How the process works, step by step
- Confirm what your order requires. Read the order or ask your attorney or probation officer.
- Call or book. Reach our team at 404-503-8069. Phones are answered, and we can often offer same-day appointments.
- Choose in person or virtual. Come to Marietta or another office, or join a live Zoom session from anywhere in Georgia. This helps if you work days or no longer have a car.
- Complete the evaluation. Expect questions about your history, the arrest and your health. Answer honestly: the recommendation is only as accurate as the information it is based on. Our guide on what to expect in an alcohol and drug evaluation walks through the appointment.
- Receive your report. You get a written report and recommendation.
- Complete any recommended classes or treatment. After completion you receive a certificate for your probation officer, the court or your employer.
Our perspective
We built The Diversion Center on the idea that someone who has just been told they need an evaluation should not also have to chase a provider. The phones get answered, and there is a full team behind every appointment rather than a single practitioner.
When we talk about cost, we want you to see the whole picture on day one: a published fee for the evaluation, a clear explanation of what the state sets separately, and honest guidance on what comes next. The cheapest outcome is almost always the one where the evaluation is done right the first time, accepted by the court or probation officer, and finished before the deadline.
That is why we offer same-day and expedited appointments, five metro Atlanta offices and live virtual sessions. Whether you are in Marietta, Duluth, Lawrenceville, Jonesboro or Fayetteville, or working from home, you can meet the requirement without missing more work than necessary.
